    Your appearance on the stage was received with such delightful applause, the success will be triumphant. А miraculous music of the delightful Domenico Scarlatti Sonata in F minor, K.466 by an unsurpassed musician and magnificent pianist Yevgeny Sudbin. I adore this masterpiece in your performance, the best version, how much energy, passion, inspiration. Your playing style is the most expressive I have ever heard, one of the most soulful performances. Divine melody, you can listen endlessly. Very beautiful music, gentle and exciting, amazing performance. The beauty of this sonata illuminates your artistic essence. Angelic music, sounds touch to the depths of the soul, to tears, and at the same time, the soul freezes in bliss from the delightful sonata. Passion and virtuosity subtly feeling and conveying all the nuances of the beautiful music of Domenico Scarlatti. Listening to this incredible composition and performance, I enjoyed it a lot!!! Thank you so much for the divine performance of an stunning masterpiece!!!🎻 🌹

    This is the closest I have heard any pianist recreate the unique style that Scarlatti's sonatas have when played on a harpsichord. To me, this makes this recording by and large the best of the piano versions I have ever heard.
    Bravo, Mr. Sudbin.

      I heard him live and, yes, you are right;it's one of the best if not the best version of all.

      Both Yevgeny Sudbin and Emil Gillels are excellent D. Scarlatti’s performers. The harpsichord version is also quite charming and contrast totally with the piano.

      So true. To understand the sonatas you must play them at the harpsichord.

    There does seem to be an encouraging consensus in the critical press of this chap doing Scarlatti.
    Reviews from the BIS recording of Scarlatti Sonatas by Subdin( 2005)
    "A magnificent solo debut and a Scarlatti recital to rival the best"- Gramophone
    "What bowls me over most is his sheer musicality. It shines out of every bar, and his playing has a constant sense of delighted discovery. As debut albums go, they don’t get much better than this." Harriet Smith, BBC Radio 3 CD Review, 12/03/2005
    "This is absolutely great piano playing, and it's matched by one of the most beautiful keyboard recordings to come along in a quite a while. If you love Scarlatti - never mind the opportunity to make the acquaintance of a stellar young artist clearly capable of wonderful things - you simply must hear this." David Hurwitz ClassicsToday, USA (10/10 and Disc of the Month, April 2005)
    "Yevgeny Sudbin stands out among his generation as a young pianist with great sensitivity, imagination and unusual insight." Chloe Cutts, International Piano Magazine, March/April 2005
    "Sudbin is a player of remarkable fire and fineness. Sudbin lends such ardour to the part-writing that each one seems a living thing." PaulDriver,TheSunday Times, 06/03/2005
    "His playing has a wonderful fluency and easy style... A hugely promising beginning." Andrew Clements, The Guardian 25/03/05
    "Yevgeny Sudbin evokes a kaleidoscopic array of colours - He relishes the rumbustiousness and subversive wit of the fast numbers, and conjures wonderfully poetic sonorities...a dazzling debut recital." Richard Wigmore, The Daily Telegraph 09/04/2005 (CD of the Week)

    Я тоже согласна с тем ,что темп все время ускоряется,и в какой редакции он играет ,столько много трелей нигде не встречала,форшлаги и морденто ,да,но таких длинных трелей не знаю ,а звук у него не плохой.

    Of course Scarlatti did not know the piano. I believe that only plucked string keyboard instruments were around back then. Not sure about the virginal though.

    this is one of the most beautiful piano pieces ever written by Scarlatti, I hear silent weep and someone is begging someone else to stay, and when I play this I interpret it this way as well. But I also have a memory that someone has said this is not a 'weeping piece', would someone mind to tell me if I am wrong?

    • @davehshs651
      @davehshs651 4 года назад

      @Ken Wong You are right. It is indeed a weeping piece. I can't decide whether the melody is sadder on the piano or on the violin. Yes, the violin, believe it or not. There's a beautiful version on youtube played by violinist David Garrett.

    • @mailywong9612
      @mailywong9612 4 года назад

      I agree with you , this is a weeping piece . I am practicing this piece now and the only way for me express it well is to play it as you said “ silent weep and someone is begging some else to stay ....”thanks so much for your wonderful imagination . You are a very good musician as well as a beautiful poet

    A competent pianist. But I don't know why he omits the ornaments in the second theme - always heard this piece with it. It turns out not to be that much of a pity when we do hear them around 1:20. Such a beautiful song, but it unfortunately sounds a little harsh here. Lise de la Salle played this live once at Le Poisson Rouge. Melted the room into a river of wax.

    Good play, but he absolutely lacks the delicacy, sensitivity and deep rooted musicality of a Trifonov for example. It's already getting a bit boring after a few minutes....
